I seem to recall that DL1BU OM Günter Schwarzbeck measured some HF beam
antennas. DL1BU who owned Schwarzbeck Electronik was a recognized EMC expert.
He used the correct procedures when measuring antennas in the near field and
far field. He used calibrated antennas to make these measurements long before
N0AX and K7LXC whose procedure did not use calibrated measuring antennas on a
controlled range.
These comments are made is not to lessen the value of the work done by N0AX and
K7LXC I have their books in my library. I wonder if you can recall his work by
DL1BU a long time ago. At the time that he mentioned it to me, the articles
were not published. They did become available later on and I recall I could not
get a English copy of his work..

"I don´t mean range testing, (without measuring in the main lobe, if I
remember right), but the signal strength I see on my receiver when I talk to
people in DX using Mosley tribander antennas.
