Our county expedition team for 7QP and CQP has made great use of a
simple C3SS. W6GJB rebuilt three of them mechanically to make them
easier to transport and rig on his contesting trailer. Glen and I also
jointly designed a 2-el 20M Yagi with elements that fold to the boom for
transport. I did the RF design using N6BV's YW software, playing with
element lengths to optimize it for for forward gain and gain bandwidth
for the 16 ft spacing that Glen said he could build. I managed to
achieve a direct feedpoint Z around 50 ohms.

The 25 year old K7LXC/N0AX data showed that even a *small*
interlaced tribander of that era (the Force 12 C3) significantly
outperformed both the TA33 and a 2 element Quad (Gem Quad).
