Ken,

I don't think that the problem is understanding the concept, but
understanding how to enforce it.

Example:

Here in EM04, we have a station that several people really don't like. They
are not contesters and if zz5zzz comes up on FM simplex and works the folks
that he likes and pointedly ignores xx5xxx, should the other contesters be
penalized? I didn't tell zz5zzz not to work xx5xxx, why should my score be
penalized?

I'm against getting people to come up and work only one station for a
competitive advantage, but if there is no collusion, why should I be
penalized for it?

An interesting corollary of this is my planned June rove to all 14 Oklahoma
Grids. My main reason for going to these grids is to get the locals those
grids on 2m and 220 for their VUCC's and while I will work everyone that I
hear (or make skeds with), I will most likely scoot from the grid once all
of the EM04 guys have the grid in their logs. By your definition, are these
"good old boy" QSOs?

Don, NL7CO/EM04

Even in this scenario, presumably you would be just as happy to
work an ST0 as you would be to work VP6/d or a VU4 or a P5 or a
YI. You wouldn't just limit yourself to the 7O DXpedition your
good buddy is a part of because you really want to see him win
the contest, would you?

Good buddy QSOs are all about giving your friends an unfair
advantage. I'm not sure why this is an unclear concept.
