I have been watching the great discussion on USB serial ports and I have
learned a few things. But here is a little different twist that my be of
interest.
I have purchased the latest version of IBM's Via Voice recognition
software. No, I don't plan to use it to automate my system although there
are some experiments that I will be doing of that nature. I don't think
the software is mature enough to do all that I want yet.
But here is the part that interested me. The software comes with a
microphone / headset that is analog but included is an adapter that uses
the USB as input for the microphone. You have a small external adapter
that your microphone plugs into and that plugs into the USB and the
headset gets audio out from your sound card. I have not tried this with
writelog but that is on the agenda for the near term.
Anyone have experience with USB for microphone input?? Writelog or not??
Thanks
