A big "amen" to that, John, here we go again trying to make the software do
the entering of the contest exchange for us. That's not the intention of the
contest in the first place, the operator has to exhibit some skills or it's
just a big numbers game. And you're right, there's no such thing as a
"logical QTH" anymore, and you'd spend all your time editing QSO's, not my
idea of fun!

As to the second part, I wasn't able to get in the 10mtr test this year, so
I don't know if the module pops up the data from a previous QSO, if not it
should in my opinion. I know for sure at least some of the RTTY modules do
( I think I remember the TARA module doing it)

in the QTH field, like VE2 = QC. W6 = CA. When there is no logical QTH, it
can be blank, unless you have worked the station on the other mode, then it
should pop up the QTH or the number given in the first QSO. NA handles this
quite well.

this, it would encourage the operator to not make a real effort to copy the
state, hurting the score. I worked MANY, MANY stateside stations in the
contest who were not located in the 'logical' QTH.

already working the station on the other mode.
