This subject has been covered a zillion times on the reflector.
Serial number sequence DOES NOT MATTER.
Duplicate serial numbers DO NOT MATTER.
NONE of the contest judges will penalize you in any way if you don't send
exactly sequential numbers.
Just send the number WriteLog tells you to and you'll be fine.
