Try the following...
   Delete the device using Control Panel->Add/Remove Hardware and do the
steps to uninstall the device.  There will be a drop down list with the
device name.  Be sure you uninstall the right one!
   Next, reboot into the BIOS setup.  Find the settings for "Plug and
Play".  Set "Plug and Play aware OS" to YES.  Set "reset bios tables" or
something like that, should be the next setting after PnP to "YES".
That will signal a hardware change to Windows and cause it to remap it's
IRQ and resource tables.
   Install the latest drivers that you downloaded.

Mike-

I am using the typical homemade cable, with the series resistor and
diode clamp in the data out line.

I downloaded a new driver from the internet, and now I have one of the
add on ports working.   The other is inop, although the device manager
reports it is there and working.

I will try un-installing the card, and re-installing, with the new
driver, and see what happens.
