I am trying to get FSK working with WriteLog and my FT100MP Mark V.
 
I built the interface according to AA5AU's recommendations as his link shown
below.

I connected the FSK line from the COM port to the Shift pin on the FSK jack
on the back of the radio. I also connected the DB9 RTS pin 7 to the PTT pin
on the radio FSK jack.
 
The radio keys properly but I do not get any shift of frequency when the
message is transmitted. I am using MMTTY plug-in and have the COM port set
the port the DB9 is connected to (COM2) and Terminal Type is set to MMTTY.
 
This probably is a really dumb question but I only have connections to the
FSK jack on SHIFT and PTT as shown in the diagram on the link above. Do I
need to connect the Ground, pin 5, of the DB9 connector to the Ground pin on
the FSK jack on the radio?
