MicroHam uses K1EL's Winkey chip, I believe.  I have the older, serial V. 9
K1EL Winkey and use it with DXbase and Writelog, and it works well.

I have also used serial keying with Writelog using the simple interface at
http://www.aa5au.com/rttyinterface.html with no problem.  I have had
problems getting serial keying to work with DXbase, but a K1EL Winkey works
fine with both programs.

Here is another less expensive (than MicroHam) that uses the same approach
as MicroHam.  I have never used K1El's winkey, so I can't comment on
performance.
