I've been following this thread without much interest but last night it got to
me interested so I thought I would check it out.
I think you need to ask why you are looking for a wl_cty.bin file. I checked on
2 different install's here and don't have that file and do not see any
indication that it ever existed.
If you have a reference to it in the configuration file under
[GreatCircleLookups] of the Writlog.ini it's I suspect because either you added
it or some earlier (long ago) incarnation of the program put it there (Although
I looked thru ini files going back 5 years and saw no reference).
I have 3 files referenced in [GreatCircleLookups], cty_rus, NA_cty and VK_cty.
The help file implies that entries here are optional and if none are found the
program will use the data from DXCCWAE.DAT that it makes when ReadCTY32 runs.

Wayne,
I'm sorry, but I remain just as dumb and clueless as ever. I see the reference
to wl_cty.bin in the Great Circle section of writelog.ini, but no definition of
the complete path to the actual file. It's not in C:\Program Data or in
C:\Program Files\WriteLog\Programs or in the or Virtual Store\WriteLog\Programs.
On the next update I will have to check what happens after I press the Convert
wl_cty.dat button to see if all the other .DAT files are updated.
If so, great. But, I still find that after using that button the VERSION query
in WL returns the wrong info indicating that something didn't work right. My
inability to find the actual wl_cty.bin FILE, not it's name in the ini file, is
frustrating.
Button, button who's got the button?

Gary AL9A
