Rag,
What is the radio that you are "direct entering" the split? If it is an
Icom product the Help manual for the [Rigs] section of writelog.ini says the
following:
"Setting this entry to 1 causes the WriteLog Icom driver to send a split
on/off command to the rig every time it polls the rig for its frequency.
This means that WriteLog is sure to know whether the rig is set for split.
IcomForceSplit=1
Setting this option to 2 causes WriteLog to do the same as setting to 1,
but, in addition, If you tune the rig from its front panel more than 500Hz
after WriteLog has set it to split, then WriteLog automatically turns the
split off.
IcomForceSplit=2
Note: WriteLog versions 10.30 and older behave like option (2) above for all
non-zero settings of this option."
This is how WL knows whether the rig is set for split. If you set split by
"direct entry" on the radio, WL has no way of knowing the spilt condition
and will turn it off on subsequent polling. If you have IcomForceSplit=2
set in the ini file then when you try to tune where you are listening WL
will turn the split off if you tune more than 500 Hz. The best solution is
to set and clear split via WL with the "-" key rather than "direct entry" by
hitting the Split button on the radio.
