Hard to split it out since there is only *one* core set of code that handles all FT modes. Every UI written uses that core code and is tied to the GPL of WSJT-X. Add in W1JT's opinion on how it should be used and this is where we are.

So, is this contest ARRL-DIGI, or is it the WSJT developers contest? From a lot of
items I’ve read, it seems the latter is reality.

I get your point but you might be amazed at the replies I'm getting saying we
shouldn't promote using software that has an unattended mode... And also just
that unattended mode software seems to be generally contentious to the core JT

ps: read that as "rubber cluckers" - I need help...

Someday soon I hope to have time to dive into the DR code and make some of
these little mods, and maybe remove the auto mode so it is cleaner for
contesting.

I disagree with that. The rules don’t say - no software can have an automatic
mode, the rules say QSOs must be attended.

If we are going to start using software to “guarantee” rules, then there is a long
list…
Top of my list is - contestants not using the correct exchange. Followed by
the rubber clockers.
