That NE5S is a reissued callsign. The original NE5S
lived in an area of 1 acre plus lots 10 miles east of
downtown Oklahoma City. His nearest neighboring
house was probably at least 100 yards away from
his house.
I helped him put up and take down his 40' Universal
tower several times for install and repair of his SteppIR
beam. He was a very good friend of mine! His son
Steve has a similar callsign of NE5SD and lives out in
the country ~25 miles southwest of OKC and is probably
1/4 mile from nearest neighbor! Lucky guy from ham
radio standpoint but a very long commute of about 45
miles to his job.

noise sources might be covering up any one specific source that you have
and someone is asking about?"
I just looked at his QTH on the map on his qrz.com listing. It appears
to have been in the middle of town, with lots of nearby neighbors,
probably all creating lots of RFI with the all their switch-mode power
supplies and other electronics. In such a situation, he could easily not
have noticed noise from another source like the HVAC system.
