I know it is fairly well documented that geomagnetic activity tends to
peak after the solar maximum, but I have created an EXCEL graph at my
webpage plotting Monthly Ave. Ap vs. Smoothed Sunspot No. from 1932 till
the present. It may be somewhat different than other published plots.

The plots clearly show that for every cycle since 1932 (all 7), the
geomagnetic activity is lowest just at the beginning of the solar
up-swing.  The highest average monthly Ap values are always during the
solar maximum decline....ie like now.

Seems like we should all expect rather unsettled low-band conditions for
the next few years, while the "best" conditions may be expected around
years 2007-2010.
