1. The days that Eastern European station as a rule had bad signals are long
gone. There are still many more unmodified FT1000's in the US than in
Eastern Europe, causing bad CW clicks! I find it NOT correct to say that
that signals coming from the USA are in general cleaner.

2. Working above 1850 (yes FIFTY) is a problem in Europe. In IATU region 2
the max average power allowed above 1850 is 10 Watt. So forget about
inciting the Region 2 stations to run high power above 1850.

3. Today a large majority of European countries can work all the way up to
20000 kHz (e.g. Belgium),... but with 10 W average power only. Saying that
the large majority of European countries do not have frequencies above 1870
is incorrect.

4. If you want ON4UN's opinion: working split in a contest on 160 (with a
large split, not e.g. 1 kHz up) is a bad idea, and is going to cause even
more QRM than we have today.
