As of late there has been a significant increase in "Chat Room Confirmation
Requests" for QSO's. With marginal conditions this season and some
DXpeditions out there that we all need sometimes our Q's are questionable.
We all want that good feeling of a solid contact, I'm no different, but what
I've seen lately has really crossed the line for my personal ethics in
several cases with a few actually coming on and asking outright if someone
can "confirm" their contact.

Frankly, that just ain't right. I'm not trying to be the "Chat Police" or to
push my personal ethics on others as I realize reasonable and honest people
do have different positions on what is and is not acceptable. I just believe
the contact and confirmation should occur on the air.

It is nice to have on-line logs and other means to get that good feeling
about a marginal contact, but when you have to publicly ask others if they
heard your contact and if it was good, did you really, honestly, make a
contact?

Yea...I know this isn't anything new....
