Not going to get involved in the discussion if someone should or should not
climb a crank up tower. However, a wise ham should investigate the
capabilities of the local
fire department to come out and maybe 'shoot the stick' (put up the ladder
truck for
those not familar with east coast fire jargon) and turn the beam slightly to
allow it to lower. I know if I get a request, I look at danger to my personal
as well as what does it mean to public service. Just a thought
