The requirements of the NEC are for safety not your personal
harassment! The reason for the separation is to prevent the conduction
of a lightning strike from jumping from one circuit (which is grounded,
the power system) to the other which is usually not grounded (as in low
voltage circuits) and then to your equipment or body!!!!!!
Turn off the paranoia lamp for a while!
