Sure Wasn't trying to beat Tom down with the crummy Quad post. It was more of play words. In the lat 60' the only thing I felt could beat a quad was a quad with more elements and a longer boom. I pulled my 4 ele 15, 20 and 5 ele 10 quad on a 30 foot boom down a few years ago to try a 40 meter yagi. So I stacked a klm kt34xa and a cushcraft 2 ele 40. I'm happy with the set up on a 80 foot freestander. Do I miss the quad? You bet! I grew up with them.73 Mike KN9T -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/FAQ/towertalk Submissions: towertalk@contesting.com Administrative requests: towertalk-REQUEST@contesting.com Problems: owner-towertalk@contesting.com |
