    I once used 2 of the same 3 element 15 meter yagis simultaneously from
my old QTH in South Carolina.  One was at 70 feet on the tower top and was
rotatable.  The other was fixed on Europe at 40 feet.  Both had electrically
equivalent (same electrical length) feed lines of RG213.

    Reports from Europe generally, but not always, gave the stack a slightly
stronger signal report.  The lower sometimes would be reported just as
strong as the upper, but NEVER was it reported that the lower was stronger.
Generally the maximun signal strength of each was equal, but more QSB was
observed on the lower.  Receiving observations were similar.

    My experience was not unlike the W6 who experimented with high and low
quads back in the 60s or 70s.  If I recall correctly, his lower never
exceeded the upper in signal strength.

    I am not discounting the observations of others who have experienced
different results comparing high and low antennas, I am just reporting what
happened to me at my station.  However, my personal experience convinces me
to put my one antenna, if that is all I've got, up as high as I can legally
and financially afford.
