Are you familiar with the NY-LA-BONE, the nylon chew toys for
dogs??  The coyotes around here think that coax and control cables
are chew toys.   The chew up surface cables into 6 inch lengths.

But burying them makes them accessible to the pocket gophers--
some little rodent that makes lots of tunnels and tends to use
the trenches for easy passage since the hard digging has already
been done.

You can't win--at least not on the prairies of CO!

Only leaves elevated cables or cables in conduits!
