Actually, having the weight on the cable helps keep the moisture out...
It would be important to ask the survey if they performed regular recommended
maint.
on the cables, etc.
I've had my crank-up for 20yrs. Performed regular monthly maint. no problems.
The
cable supports all the weight of the tower and antennas,etc.
In many cases regular maint. requires the cable be replaced every 3 yrs. Make
sure
you confirm this detail in the respondents. Lubing the cable isn't enough!
