Another option may be to see if there is a HAM radio club. Many=
 people in Europe have the
same problem (can't put up antennas) and belong to clubs where=
 they go to use equipment.
Sure beats giving up!

=A4| =A0You certainly do not want to give up ham radio! =A0It is too=
 bad
=A4| =A0they do not want you to run the cables up the side. =A0If done
=A4| =A0correctly, no one would ever know. =A0And anyhow, I've never=
 been
=A4| =A0to Belo Horizonte, but I've been to Sao Paolo and Buenos=
 Aires
=A4| =A0and I saw plenty of buildings with cables up and down the=

=A4|
=A4| =A0Here are some other possible options.

=A4|
=A4| =A01.) Can you move to the top floor of the building where the=

=A4| =A0run would be very short on the outside of the building and=
 you
=A4| =A0wouldn't be running it by anyone?
=A4|
=A4|
=A4| =A02.) Is there some sort of shelter that exists or could be=
 made on
=A4| =A0the top of the building and you could put your ham shack=
 there?
=A4|
=A4|
=A4| =A03.) Is there any way to run your cables between the walls?=
 =A0That
=A4| =A0way no one would see. =A0It's a very big job to do, but if=
 it's
=A4| =A0possible, I think everyone is happy.
=A4|
=A4|
=A4| =A04.) Have a wire antenna inside your home or a vertical=
 outside
=A4| =A0the window -
=A4| =A0at least it gets you on the air. =A0Join a club with a station=
 that
=A4| =A0you can operate more seriously from.
=A4|
=A4|
=A4| =A0There are many options, my friend. =A0I once made an antenna=
 that
=A4| =A0was design to fit around the sides of a balcony I had. =A0I=
 made
=A4| =A0contacts with it, a Heathkit transmitter and a Hallicrafters=
 SX-
=A4| =A0100 receiver. =A0And that was in 1989! =A0There's always a way!
=A4|
=A4|
=A4| =A0Don't give up. Even 500 feet of cable run is better than=
 none.
=A4| =A0Someone else may be able to better answer your cable length
=A4| =A0questions than me.

 not
=A4| =A0=A4| =A0allow me to pass the cables (rotor and
=A4| =A0coaxial cable) at
=A4| =A0=A4| =A0side of the building. I used the elevator but the
=A4| =A0company which makes
=A4| =A0=A4| =A0rvice complained that it is illegal and asked me to
=A4| =A0remove them (I am
=A4| =A0=A4| =A0ng that tomorrow morning). Thus so I have two options to
=A4| =A0follow:
=A4| =A0=A4| =A0| =A0>=A01. To give up ham radio.
=A4| =A0=A4| =A0| =A0>=A02. To pass the cable all the way down the stairs=

=A4| =A0and =A0paiting

=A4| =A0=A4| =A0| =A0>=A0I confess that after almost one year arguing with=
