Stan,

Thank you for your thoughtful post.

While my sig is fairly new it definitely was not created
for the purpose of the TowerTalk list nor intentionally used
vs not used in my post specific to the tragic passing of Bill.
Those who have suggested such are without a clue.

The fact is that I am on many lists the span Ham radio,
politics, theology, computers, etc. and when I tinker with
my sig I do it and immediately forget about it in the flurry of
the busyness of life (including 100+ E-mails on average per day).

I am shocked that some have chosen to distract from our
shared mourning of Bill through attacks on me for an
inadvertant error. I am also sorry that my failure to
think that anyone would blow something so silly all out
of proportion might become a distration -- had I imagined
that and noticed the sig I would surely have deleted it.

I would prefer to unsubscribe for a time rather than to
continue to be a tool for those who wish to manufacture a
partisan political conflict at this time of mourning.

Respectfully, doc

Without having any other information to base my opinion on, my guess is that
KD4E did not use this as a forum to promote his political views. The PS and
PPS notes he had in his signature line would show up automatically in every
e-mail he sent. His message regarding Bill was sincere. The only thing I
can think of that would change my opinion would be if that statement were
added specifically for this posting

Although my choice would be to not include political or religious statements
in a signature line on every e-mail I sent out for what should be obvious
reasons, I don't think everyone should jump on KD4E and make him feel bad
for something that may very well have been inadvertent and unintentional.
