Anyone contemplating the use of Kellems grips should get the Hubbell
Kellems catalog. There are hundreds of kinds of grips.

For hanging coax, we want to use the "Service Drop Support Grip" class.
These are designed to continuously support hanging cables. The most
common and least expensive type within this class is the "Closed Mesh"
grip; be aware that the grip size to fit RG-8 coax will NOT allow a
PL-259 to pass through!

There are also Service Drop Support Grips of types "Split Mesh, Lace
Closing" and "Split Mesh, Rod Closing" that open the mesh
longitudinally, allowing placement on existing cable installations or
placement on cables with connectors already installed. However, these
are much more expensive than the common Closed Mesh grips. My
recommendation is to first slip on the grip and then put on the PL-259;
you can slide the grip along the coax as needed.

The Kellems catalog includes engineering information that allows
selection of grips to hold more than one cable per grip. This approach
works best with *more* than two cables of the same size per grip and
should not be considered unless you have a large number of cables to hang!

You won't find any of these grips at your local Home Depot consumer
hardware store. Instead, find a commercial electrical equipment
distributor. And, first, get a catalog!
