At this moment you receive several answer to your email related to the DXE 400
coax, also others good recommendations in price and quality like the JeFa Tech
coax and the BuryFlex
I like the DXE 400 or the Bury flex for HF and the rotor loops / pigtails
from the antenna to :
Grounding brackets from DXE at the tower top
Antenna switch at top of the tower
Hardline connector at top of the tower
lightning arrestor
OR just a Barrel to separate the antenna when needed to take it down from the
tower
Several of the above configurations have in use at my station and with friends
and clients where I work.
In my stations ( and my recommendation to others) is to have the lowest loss
in the coax from your radio to your antenna
a good advice is to be around or LESS of 1 Db in coax loss, is what
the experts recommend and really works

For 2m SSB your maximum lenght of cable under this parameter of the 1Db
loss
is 60-63ft using Bury or DXE 400
yes, YOU CAN USE 200 FT of cable and make a lot of contacts in 2m but no
performance with 3.2 dbs of loss (1/2 power loss and RX)
maybe some recommendations are "extreme" for a few or NO WAY for others,
because they have a "GREAT" performance with the 200ft lengh of coax
but they know what they miss ?
If your budget allow it use the best cable with the lowest loss you can get.
LMR 600, 1/2 inch and 7/8 harlines are not expensive if you get used or
left
overs
In my case not a big budget but a plan of what I need , time and some
selection
can provide an optimum station with performance

I guess I should mention the reason for the purchase is initially for my 2
meter
SSB run but was looking to use it for HF and up to 432 in the future.
