I always thought a top connector was a good way to ground the coax to the tower at the top. It also makes it a lot easier to replace the loop if need be.

That is what I use, specifically Belden 8267.  LMR400 is not really not much
better. Assuming that this is not a 100 to 200' tower, why not use the same
coax all the way down the tower and eliminate the top connector?

I finally got approval to put up my tower and 10-15-20 meter beam.  Is RG
213
the best and most flexible coax to use from the radiator for the loop for
tower
rotation?   It will connect to LMR-400 down tower leg.
