I see no mention of UV resistance anywhere in their specs. It is
self amalgamating at room temp but what happens when you're hanging
off a tower at 30 deg repairing a connector? Not saying you're
wrong, just wondering.

I use Rescue Tape with no problems. Just Rescue Tape.

At 8,000 foot elevation in the Sierra Nevada, we get more UV exposure than
most of you. More snow than most of you. Lots of freezing rain. Lots of
torrential rain. Lots of wind.

I apply Rescue Tape per instructions with the recommended amount of
stretch. It easily conforms to and seals irregularities like barrel splices
and PL259/SO239 connections.

It does not deteriorate. It comes off easily when gently split with an
X-Acto blade. Leaves no residue. Parts underneath are bright and shinny,
even after twelve years (my longest time so far).

Never an issue. I'm a happy camper. Just Rescue Tape, nothing else.

I've seen recommendations for this sort of product for as part of a
strategy sealing outdoor coax splices against moisture. I see several
brands listed, most say "UV-resistant." My intended use would be in
addition to a first double wrap with a product like Rescue Tape or 3M
Mastic, and a UV protection second wrap of Scotch 88, using the Liquid
Tape for irregular areas and parts that are hard to tape (for example,
where a PL259 mates to an SO239). I would appreciate any advice from
those with experience.

Thanks and 73, Jim K9YC
