I stand corrected. It's Amphenol part number 182130-10. The drawing
indicates the center tube is 3.5mm in diameters, probably closer to 3mm
opening. LMR-400 center conductor is 2.74mm, so it should fit. Not sure
about the BuryFlex I use, which may have a slightly larger center conductor.

DXE has them, but price is $33.99 for four ($8.50 each.) Mouser has them for
$4.67 each at that quantity. Shipping evens it out a little if you buy over
$100 from DXE, but quantity breaks at Mouser counter. I ordered four from
Mouser to see how they compare with the DXE center pin solder connectors
with regard to sizing for the center pin. How solid the crimp looks, etc.

One point on crimp vs solder center conductors: All the heliax I've ever
used relies on mechanical connections for the shield and center conductor.
There's less flexing, but depending on the application (e.g., not a rotor
loop) I don't see why crimp isn't just as good as solder.

Hi Dick -

It looks like there are Amphenol PL-259 and N-series crimp connectors for
LMR-400 that allow crimping the center pin. See the DXE chart and the "Hex
crimp center pin" row in the chart at

https://static.dxengineering.com/global/images/chartsguides/d/dxe-ut-kit-crm
p2_ty.pdf

DXE carries at least the PL-259 types in their catalog.

You have to solder the center pin if it's not designed to be crimped, as is
the case with LMR-400 compatible UHF crimp connectors like the ones from
DXE.
