Insulators at the tower end are very necessary if you have Yagi's close to
the Phillystran attachment point.

The problem is significant and is caused by the preforms that are used to
terminate the Phillystran. The preforms are of significant length (metal)
and when they are directly connected to the tower, they will interact and
significantly reduce the performance of the Yagi. This has been proven in
field and computer modeled studies.

All guy wires at K3LR are Phillystran and all have insulators with bent pin
shackles at the tower connection point. This solves the problem.

The 15M beam just above this guy ring had major SWR issues before this
insulator was installed, and this fixed it.

I understand from previous posts that there is value in connecting a
Phillystran guy cable to the steel tower with an insulator. This avoids
grounding the 3 ft long Phillystran big grip to the tower connection point,
which will distort the pattern of nearby yagis. What have people done to
connect the insulator to the tower? It would not be sensible to use two EHS
big grips back to back with a short piece of EHS between them (one EHS BG at
the insulator and the other at the tower), as that would defeat the purpose
of the insulator. Is there a connection means between the 502 insulator and
a thimble that is only a few inches long?
