Run: TS-930 + AL-1200
2nd: TS-930 barefoot

First Single Op effort in a major DX test in what seems like forever.
Spent lots of weekend time this year getting small yagis put up on
two modest towers (87' and 50'). Other than improving the 80 &
160 antennas, I'm essentially done and can return to the real
world now.

Had lost the SB-220 during a double multi-op here during SS SSB
and could not either get it fixed or find a replacement. With low
power, I was pleasantly surprised at times at how much was
workable on the 2nd rig. Had considered beforehand turning off
the AL-1200 and doing a low power effort, but decided to go for
max score for the FCG. Also had lost the rotor on the short tower
and did not get it working again until after noon on Friday.

Lots of neat stuff worked this time around and things went better
than I expected in general. Rate was amazingly steady, but
never spectacular. Managed about 46 hours in the chair.
Surprised to find conditions very similar to CT (or did I just
operate like I was still there?). Expected JA runs on 40 that
never came close to materializing. Really struggled the second
night to get anything going after a surprisingly good JA run on
20. Even took the full 05Z hour off, it was so bad for me. Looks
like this is the period when W4AN ran away from me. Oh well...

Was frankly surprised at the general level of scores afterward -
congrats to all those amazing scorers! Heard lots of comments
about how great conditions were. I did not get that sense at all
down here in FL. I predict that scores will continue to grow over
the next 3-4 years. Is a 10M SO effort out of the question?

Who won the 6Y vs. TI shootout?? Where are W1KM and N2NT?
Did P40W (or EA8EA) beat HC8N, P40E and the rest? Did anyone
work ZF2NE (bet he was 10M only and skipped right over me all weekend)?

CU all in the 10M test in 2 weeks!

73, Dan
