I have been reading about some of the problems with the al-1200, I never
have run rtty, but I know it is the toughest HF mode on the final stage of an
amplifier, especially at full power. Generally with transcievers the manual
will tell you to back off on the power and the duration of transmissions.
Perhaps this is a needed adendom to the ameritron manual. Someone
mentioned the toughness of the Alpha amps, it just so happens I have an Alpha
amp for sale, it is a 76A in mint condition, low hours, non-smoker. This amp
is rated at 2500 watts PEP input and 1000 watts average. These ratings are
CCS no time limit...I guess thats what you need for rtty. Anyway am asking
1400.00 for it. If interested please e-mail me personally, I would be glad
to answer any further questions. I will consider delivery within about 100
miles or so from CT. If I need to ship it, I guess we can work that out. I
must say when it comes to rugged, this amp comes out on top!!! Thank
You....73 LOU
