[AMPS] Parallel Diodes for increased current rating

I don't think it is worth the effort; the equalizing resistors would be
very critical and if the dynamic characteristics vary, no amount of
equalization will work.  Also, if one decides to go (and especially if it
shorts), the whole string could go like a string of firecrackers.  If one
opens, the remaining diode now takes the whole load and you will be
vacuuming up the remains.  Use your 1/2 ampers  where they are usable and
buy the ones you need - the cost is not that great considering the
potential problems.
