Are you able to safely see the plate current rise and fall with 
normal amounts of drive?  

What does the grid current indication do at the  various drive levels?

What is the static Plate voltage, keyed plate voltage with no drive?

That extra power you calculate is going somewhere if actually being
done... testing should be limited to reduced levels and time periods for
the duration.
