I don't care at all about how much my signal increases in "S" units. No one
listens to those. They listen to my signal. All I have to do is increase it
so that its either above the noise threshold of the other station or just
above the other guy calling. My goal is to be heard not to move the S meter.
I'm not debating the merit of the arguments made about spending money on
antennas vs a little more power out of an amplifier. To each their own. But
to make a decision because the added power or gain would only be a half an S
unit, I think, misses the point.
