So, anyone know the technical definition of "working voltage" if it isn't
the, um, voltage the capacitor can work at? Don't you just love
specsmanship?

## IOW... the stamped WV...and not the.. 'surge voltage'.  A lot of
folks seem to think you can run a cap continuously at it's surge vdc
rating... you can't.  




Incidentally, I understand some electrolytics can be reformed to a higher
working voltage if you apply a gradually increasing bias to them and then
hold them for a while somewhat above the desired WV.

## I heard this one too.  The caveat is... apparently, the  Capacitance
will drop to a lower value.  So it's usually only done.. if really required.
