Here's an excerpt from the AL-1500 Manual:

"NEVER REWIRE THE POWER SUPPLY TO BOOST
THE HIGH VOLTAGE ABOVE 3700 VOLTS."

At normal 3600 V, the Al-1500 puts out 1500 W with about 50 watts
drive, so why push the envelope by boosting the HV?
