Would like some opinions on the force-12 antennas. Is there anybody reading
this that has switched from say a TH-6 class antenna to a comprable force-12
antenna? If so, what did you switch to and what are your impessions of the
force 12 as compared to what you were using?

tnx for any input.

Now always the same result. The station transmitting may be inaudible to
you, while the station listening hears you very well. Haven't we all had
to defend the frequency repeatedly while trying to get a fill from a
really weak station?

Hello there;

QRL?

It is amazing to see all of the folks who do not
get it, except for the sane remarks of G3XTT,
K8JP and WQ5L. NU6S, as only he can, wryly
observes this argument with the perspective
it deserves.

Why should K3ZO, a model for years of effective
and sportsmanlike operating technique, suddenly
be accused of flying in the face of common
courtesy? Because he doesn't say QRL? Fred
did not say that he goes around bullying everyone
he feels like, he just said that he doesn't say QRL!

There are many different ways of probing for a
frequency WITHOUT either becoming a nuisance OR
saying "QRL?" (Which I think IS a nuisance),
or any other unnecessary blather like "Pardon
me, would it offend anyone if I transmit here?
If no one hears this please disregard this message."
Have the "Radio Police" ruled that anyone who uses
some alternative method, however unobtrusive, is a
barbarian?  Give me a break.

Self righteous declarations of bruised sensibilities
are dramatic, but y'all should go back and understand
just what it is you are responding to.

Respectfully submitted;
