The second Collegiate Championship will be held during the CW
and phone SS contests. Please encourage your school or alma
mater to get on the air and participate!

Second Annual North American Collegiate Amateur Radio Club
Championship
1. Object: For college and university stations in all ARRL (American
Radio Relay League) and RAC (Radio Amateurs of Canada) sections to
participate in the ARRL November Sweepstakes and compete against other
college and university radio clubs.
2. Contest Rules: CW portion takes place on first full weekend of
November (Nov 4-6), phone portion takes place on third full weekend
of November (Nov 18-20). Both start on Saturday 2100 UTC and end on
Monday 0300 UTC. All rules, as stated in the October issue of QST,
pertain to this collegiate competition.
3. Station Location: In an effort to encourage club station
improvements all contacts must be made from the established club
radio station located on a college campus. No "portable" operation
from a nearby contest "super station". A club may operate from a
member's station provided that a club station on campus does not
exist.
4. Results: Separate champions will be determined for CW, phone and
combined scores. Official results will be based on those published
in QST so all participants are required to submit a valid log to the
ARRL. Participants must also submit a score summary (the contest
summary sheet, NOT a complete log!) to the collegiate contest
moderator. Provisional scores and winners will be posted on the
ham-univ and cq-contest Internet mail reflectors by the moderator.

5. Awards: To be determined. Certificates will be printed.
This means:
1. Not limited to multi-op single transmitter if multiple ops not
available. Single op efforts may submit their score as their official
school effort.
2. Not limited to US stations only (US, US possessions and Canada).
3. All club members allowed to participate (including alumni, not
just students).
4. Club station rule waived when no club station exists.

HELP on using the ARRL's Automated Information Server (info at arrl.org)
PLEASE Note: When you send messages to the ARRL Email Information Server,
you should use the address:
info at arrl.org (NOT info-serv at arrl.org)
Messages sent from the server are addressed from info-serv at arrl.org in
order to prevent bounced messages from creating a mail loop.
Send a new message to info at arrl.org for each batch of requests.
Each line of the message should contain a single command as shown
below. You may place as many commands in a message as you want.
Each file you request will be sent to you in a separate message.
Only ASCII text files are supported at present.
If you have FTP access, all of these files can be obtained
from oak.oakland.edu by anonymous FTP in the files area
pub/hamradio/arrl/infoserver. Retrieve the file index.txt
in this directory for a complete listing of available files
listed by subdirectory with descriptions.
Valid INFO email commands:
help Sends this help file
index Sends an index of the files available from INFO
reply <address> Sends the response to the specified address. Put this
at the BEGINNING of your message if your From: address
is not a valid Internet address.
send <FILENAME> Sends "FILENAME" example: send PROSPECT.TXT
quit Terminates the transaction (use this if you have
a signature or other text at the end of the message.)
Note: your message will *not* be read by a human! Do not include
any requests or questions except by way of the above commands.
Retrieve the "HQ-EMAIL.TXT" file for a list of email addresses of
ARRL HQ staff.
Your From: field or Reply-to: field in your header should contain a
valid Internet address, including full domain name. If your From:
field does not contain a valid Internet address, the answer will not
reach you. However, we have recently added a reply function as a
server command. If needed, the REPLY command should be the first
command in your message.
syntax:
reply mailaddr
Where mailaddr is a valid Internet mail address (either user at domain
or bang address accepted.) An invalid address generates an error.
A wrong address results in non-delivery of your response.
The address given in the reply command is the address to which all
subsequent requests in the message will be sent.
If an error message is generated, it will be sent to the last reply
address given.
