Please look for GB5HQ in this weekend's WAE phone contest. The station will
be a multi-single entry from the RSGB International HF Convention at
Beaumont, Old Windsor, Berkshire, England.

This is a serious entry running for the full 48 hours. During the hours of
the convention we will be taking the opportunity to demonstrate a modern
contest station to convention visitors. The station is located on a hill
about a quarter of a mile south of the River Thames with an excellent
takeoff to W, JA and the far east with just a small hill to the south.

Thanks are due to SMC Ltd, Linear Amp UK, Yaesu UK, G3OZF, Verulam ARC and
South Notts ARC for the loan of equipment to make the operation possible.
As always seems to be the case in the UK, the station will be set up
'field day' style on Friday and removed again on Monday. Once we are
operational on Friday we will be using the special Marconi 100th callsign
M1OOG up until midnight.

Just like IR4T we will be looking especially for openings on 10 and 15m
and we want all your QSOs and QTCs please.

ok, there has been lots of discussion about the use of internet to get to
cluster nodes, but has there been a definitive answer about the legality yet?
if not, who should i address the following specific question to:

"If a cluster node is connected to another cluster node via internet can that
link be used to pass dx spots during the CQWW DX contests?"

NOTE! I am NOT asking if it is valid for users to connect to far away
clusters via internet. And I do NOT care about international connections
of clusters. I want to know if it is worth while persuing a method for
simple cluster to cluster backbone connections as a backup for when our
vhf/uhf routes are down due to wx or equipment failure during these specific
contests.

I need some stalwart swarthies to fill out the Grateful Ed sprint team on
its "Farewell Tour". The name shall be "Ed" during the CW sprint this
weekend and "Jerry" during the SSB event. If you'd like to be one of
"Jerry's Kids" during the event, get back to me ASAP!
