For SS, my readings would be:

Yes.  And send the last 6 hours as "check log".  Go for it.

For SS (consecutive serials numbers and all that) this wouldn't
work.

>        c) Operate 24 hours as VE8XYZ M/S and the other six hours 
>under one of their own calls, e.g. W9XYZ/VE8?

SS rules would not allow this (same transmitter under different
call is specifically disallowed.)
