[CQ-Contest] SS, more thoughts

Is this really worthy of prolonged discussion.  The purpose of the check is
mainly to provide a number (2 digit) as part of the exchange.  Would the
ARRL disqualify a log if it contained erroneous data?  What if I didn't
want to divulge the year I was licensed?  What if I couldn't remember (as
was the case one year)?  What if I chose to use an arbitrary number?  Would
my score change?  Would yours?  

Perhaps someone should ask the holders of the final word(s), the ARRL.
