Since the topic is here:
Has anyone tried recording a contest using low sampling rate as a .wav
file and then compressing it to an .mp3 format? Compresses .wav files
10/1 in stereo (at 128K/S), and even greater in lower resolution mono
applications (my encoder goes down to a whopping 16K/S). Presto....
Entire contest stored on 1 CD-ROM. Any thoughts?

Hi Guys,
At IR4T we have recorded the last WPX SSB, with RECALL PRO
a great recording program that allow you to record and compress
in MP3 format in real time, so no more post compression of .WAV
file. It's include a VOX function, the stop the recording under a =
selectable
edge, allow you to save space disk when trasmitting, wthout the Monitor =
ON
!!
The program allow you to save automatically the files in numerical
order, so you can have the Audio splitted into more files, preserviing
last minute RF failures , at least you lost only the last file ....
All the 48 h Contest fits into 450Mb, easy to add into a single CD-ROM,
playable with any Win95/98 player that support MP3 format.
You can find a 30 day trial version at the follow address :
