Some years ago it was theorized that LDE's were reflections from a belt
of ionization which sometimes forms around the earth, possibly the Van
Allen radiation belt or something similar.  Rare, but not unheard of.

here are some more information about the E30NA DXpedtion 2001.

Time schedule:
==============
- Tuesday, Oct. 30: The Team is on vacation for a sightseeing tour
  in Massawa except Chris, DL5NAM ... he is right now on 28468kHz
- Wednesday, Oct. 31: this wil be the last day of operation
  The team will put down all antennas, leave their qth and go back to
  Asmara to stay some more days in the wellknown Hotel Nyala.
  It will take more time as expected to get the transportation of all
  material fixed.
- Thursday, Nov. 1 until Nov. 2: Meeting with the customs, Lufthansa
  and local friends ...

Logs:
=====
- Tuesday, October, 30 at 15UTC the crew has appr. 18,000 qsos in the log
- appr. 550 qsos on 6m including appr. 100 qsos with North America

Online Logs:
============
- there will be NO update of the online log until they returned home ...
- the online log contains appr. 9,000 QSOs (QSOs until October, 24 06:44UTC)
- go the the E30NA website => Button "online log" - due to miscopied calls
  and typing errors, the log is not free of errors !

Problems:
=========
- one of the linears broke during the CQWWDX Contest

Skeds:
======
- Sorry... but we (DF3CB and DF4RD) are not able to arrange any kind of
  skeds for E3ØNA.

CQWWDX Activity:

- E3ØNA was participating in the CQWW Phone Contest in the category.
  Unchecked Score is appr. 7,200 qsos with a score of 13,4 Mio. points
