[CQ-Contest] 1980s checks in SS/SSB.

I've said this before. I don't user pre-fill data bases to prevent me from having to copy. I use them
to reduce the amount of TYPING I have to do. I still think it is important that every exchange be copied
every time. It's just that, if it matches what is on your pre-fill, what type it again?

Does contesting really need to be a test of how fast you can accurately type?

Lots of guys changed thier check in SS this year. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

My personal preference is not using any of these "crutches" for
contesting. This puts me in the "active decoding" state while logging
QSOs, where a mistake (bust) is fully attributable to my skill. It is
too easy to fall into false sense of security of a "Check this and while
you're at it, check that" database fever and not even pay attention to
what the program puts into the RX field.

But that's just my style, I guess. I love CW!
