[CQ-Contest] Ideal monitor size

I use a 20" TFT monitor 1600x900 placed between my two Icom IC-765 on my
desk.
Would not like to have a monitor higher then my eyes.

I currently have a 23" monitor on my desk which fits perfectly between 2
desktop shelf units.  Given the recent proliferation of larger monitors,
including the ultra-wides (34" or so), I am considering doing a little
redecorating to accommodate a larger monitor.

I'm interested in thoughts on the ideal monitor size, and resolution) 
for what we do (SO1R here).
