[ct-user] CT on Linux DOSEMU and FreeDOS

Hi Michael and all.

I can verify that CT 9 will install into a FreeDOS partition as I loaded
it up about a month ago and placed a message to this list (check the
archives). I did find that an ANSI.SYS driver should be loaded as I had
a mysterious crash when it was not loaded.

I haven't used CT for more than a few QSOs while running under FreeDOS,
but didn't experience any problems with rig control, duping, scoring,
etc. related to the OS.

As for Dosemu, I haven't tried running CT in that environment in some
time. I did try it some years back and if I recall the crash seemed
related to the high memory handling under Dosemu. So, any CT crash
data is more likely to be a bug in Dosemu than CT and you may want to
contact the Dosemu developers about this.

73, de Nate >>
