[Fourlanders] 2.4 and 5.8 GHz

I agree but they did the same thing with the last rule changes. They waited
until about two weeks before the January contest and then announced the
changes. There was then a scramble as KX9X and others worked diligently to
get the word out via the internet, etc. The VUAC always makes sure that they
have our proposals several months before the contests begin. I have no idea
why it takes them so long to make their decision and then they make their
announcement just before a major contest. The VUAC is just as frustrated
with this as you are. FYI, W4OZK is a member of the Publications & Services
Committee. Technically I work for him so I am not in a position to pin him
down but I encourage everyone to ask Greg these questions next time you see
him.

you are. If it doesn't agree with experiment, it's wrong.

Well, that certainly doesn't make a lot of sense since the May and June QSTs
are already in the hands of people that look to that magazine for the
contest announcements and rules !! A little late now to expect everyone to
get the word about rules changes.

What are THEY thinking at HQ ???

You guys might want to standby on the cordless phones and WiFi cards. I
just found out that the P&S Committee is supposed to make an announcement
about the June contest rules tomorrow. I will let you guys know as soon as
I hear anything.
