[Fourlanders] Random PCB Manufacturing Data

Sometime back, maybe during the June 2010 contest, I was talking a bit
of shop with someone on the mountain. The question came up about how
thick are 20+ layer PCB's. I have four different new solder sample
bare boards of 20 layers each at my desk today. They are 2.5mm thick
(~0.1"). They are also quite heavy even in unpopulated form at roughly
2/3 lbs. each. They are approximately 7" x 10". Ultimately they will
be building block modules in commercial HDTV video distribution
systems. There are nearly 1000 surface mount parts that will go on
each PCB.

Anyhow, I hope that was interesting for a few. I have to get back at it...

Cheers,
Brian
