Johnny came up today with all his new antennas and equipment for 1296.
We got the antennas up, checked bearing, etc. They look really nice.
He got the station set up too and we immediately copied the K4UHF beacon
even though we only cranked the tower up enough to clear the roof of the
building. Leaves are down now so much easier copy on the beacon. I
have been messing around this evening listening on 1296 EME band and
tracking manually but nothing decoded on JT65C. I was hoping!! Heavy
overcast for rain moving in so I can't see the moon to double check our
azimuth and elevation settings. Maybe another night this weekend will
be successful. Also was not able to hear the ON0EME beacon but will also
try again for that.
Johnny also helped with final setting up of the 222 station. I had
manual CW/SSB TX and RX working OK but we got N1MM running and also
WSJT-x. Only thing left is to check live transmit audio and recording
of operator CQ's in N1MM. We will get to that tomorrow or one day next
week.
Special Request: Those of you who have been involved in helping set up
antennas and such for the past couple of contests please look through
your tool supply and see it you can find a pair of Crescent Dikes with
(dirty) blue and silver cover handles. Also missing from my repertoire
is a 13mm combination wrench with ratchet box end, maybe a gear wrench
brand. They could easily be lost in the chaos of my building or left
somewhere around here while we were doing some job but I haven't been
able to find them. Check and see if you will.
Thanks and 73, Bob
